Post Purification

How long is the post-purification protocol?

The post-purification protocol is based on the health needs of the individual. A health care professional can determine what is right for the patient. This protocol could feasibly be followed for a lifetime.

What if there are continued health issues?

The health care professional and patient should work together during post-purification. The health care professional may recommend supplements that are specific to a patient's health concerns.

Is this post-purification program recommended for pregnant or lactating women?

No. More calories are required during pregnancy and nursing than needed for everyday weight management.

What if more protein or fiber is required in the diet?

For additional protein or fiber, mix a shake with Whey Pro Complete (powdered protein supplement) or Whole Food Fiber (powdered fiber supplement). You can also combine Whey Pro Complete or Whole Food Fiber with SP Complete®, or other beverages or foods, such as applesauce or yogurt. See the Whey Protein brochure or Dietary Fiber brochure for more details.

Why is exercise necessary? How much and what type is recommended?

Exercise facilitates the removal of toxins and it helps manage a healthy weight. It is recommended to walk at least 30-45 minutes at least four days per week. More strenuous exercise may be appropriate as well. A health care professional can help develop an appropriate exercise program.

Can regular supplements/medications be taken while on the program?

A health care professional can help decide what is right for a patient based on health history, supplements/medications being taken, and health goals. A health care professional may recommend additional supplements to support a patient while on the program.

What if fatigue sets in while on the program?

Fatigue may set in because the body may require a higher amount of protein during post-purification. A health care professional may discuss adding Whey Pro Complete to the program. Whey Pro Complete is a powdered protein supplement that contains 15 grams of protein per serving which should meet the body's protein requirements.

What if I am not losing weight like I did on the purification diet?

The post-purification diet is a way to establish healthy eating habits, not a weight-loss program. That said, many people will lose weight on both purification and the post-purification programs because they're eating in a conscious, deliberate way. Healthy weight management is a goal that should be discussed with a health care professional. Some tips for healthy weight management are:

  • Watch portion sizes.
  • Healthy snacks should be available at all times.
  • Make sure the diet has more vegetables than fruits.
  • Don't eat anything in excess.
  • If sugar cravings are a problem, a health care professional may recommend additional supplements.
